Matthew and Brianna met while attending Texas A&M University in 2005.

One evening, Brianna’s freshman year, she received a phone call from a friend asking if she wanted to eat dinner and watch the O.C. (a popular TV show at the time.)She met many new people that evening, but spent most of the night in conversation with a very handsome young man named Matthew Robben.

He eventually asked for her number and they began to talk on a regular basis.

After fun trips with their friends and spending time at Lake Bryan, they quickly realized their friendship had grown into love and the rest is history!

Three and a half years later…Easter weekend was approaching and Matthew called to tell Brianna that they were going to be having dinner with his architect and coworkers Friday night. Needless to say, Brianna was extremely nervous about meeting Matthew’s co-workers for the first time and immediately began to think of what she should wear -of course! The plan was to meet Matthew at his office so they could drive together to dinner. Brianna arrived early and Matthew asked if they could drop off a form at Christ the King Catholic Church since it was on the way. They had been attending Christ the King since Matthew first moved to Dallas, so Brianna was not suspicious when he wanted to stop by on Good Friday. They quietly walked into the church and proceeded to the front to say a prayer. Once in front of the altar, Matthew began telling Brianna how much he loved her and how he thanked God for their relationship. She immediately blurted out, “Are you proposing?!” Matthew laughed, hugged her, and then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course she said, “YES!” and proceeded to turn around to see both of their families standing in the choir loft. Brianna was so shocked she could hardly stand and she was shaking all over. They took pictures and shared the moment with their families. Matthew and Brianna left the church and went to Nana’s Grill, which overlooked the city. Matthew had taken care of every detail, including beautiful roses on the table. Brianna couldn’t eat, she was still in shock. After dinner, they drove to Grand Lux Café and had their favorite dessert (molten chocolate cake) with their friends and family.

Brianna currently works at Park Place Motorcars Dallas as an Assistant Service Manager for Mercedes Benz. After graduating from Texas A&M in May 2008 with a Marketing degree, Brianna moved back home to spend time with her family and friends before the wedding in April.

Matthew graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Dallas to start a career with McCarthy Building Companies. He is currently a Project Engineer on the Dallas County Forensics Science Lab “CSI: Dallas.”
